Lilly Jackson in Darlinghurst Sydney is a dedicated hair and make up studio passionate about hair styling and fashion.
The Studio Space was designed to reflect the styling edge of Lilly Jackson as a hair and make up studio.
The lighting design called for creative solutions that dealt with issues specific to the hairdressing environment, including accurate colour matching and producing general light levels sufficient for the task of cutting hair.
With exposed concrete ceilings we designed our linear profile systems to use a combination of indirect light bounced off reflective ceilings and direct light that was able to be adjusted and aimed specifically for hair cutting tasks.
The result is a space that uses different surfaces in a play of light to create general light at a level to be able to accurately mix hair colour dyes and cut hair, without sacrificing overly the contrast of light necessary to give the studio a distinctive style.
